I think edges are important in photography because it shows which way the viewer sees the landscape.
LOOKING UP, LOOKING DOWN
On the photo on the right the type of view is an imposing view because the building is hovering over you and the photo is claustrophobic because the view makes you feel pressured as the building looks like it's tilting towards you . You can also see the shadows of the power lines and the edges of the windows and the sides of the building. The second photo has the Birdseye view and you can see the shadows of the people and the benches also the photo has an effect of black and white in the photo all the edges are straight. |
My favourite image is the close up one on the lockers because the angle of the photo makes the lockers look bigger than any other object also in the distance you can see the reflection of the door and it brings out the light. This makes the photo more unique because there are many things going on in the image.
I like the last photo out of all these photos because it has a lot of detail as it includes the reflection of the mirror which shows two sides to the picture although the mirror is blurry also in this photo shows light from a downside view. I think all these features make the photo more unique.
Jerry Reed is an English photographer who claims his objective is to sustain the interest of the viewer through his photographs. He focuses heavily on a contrast in the shadows from the light on the paper, giving a very two-toned effect.
In my opinion Jerry Reed's work is very creative because he does different type of styles when he does his paperwork because he does different types of shades and shadows also the different types of paper folds are unique.
He creates his pictures by doing different type of paper folds and he takes his shots from different types of angles he looks out for different types of shades and shadows.
I think that Jerry Reeds artwork links to edges because the different types of angles he takes his picture of.

Francis Bruguière and Vjeko Sager
Francis Bruguière's photo has a darker shade then Vjeko Sager's photo.
Both photos have curved edges.
Both photos have different styles of the paper fold.
They have shades of light.

www: The thing that went well with these three photos is that I could've taken them from a better angle.
Edges Assessment
1. I chose these five photos because the theme for all 5 of them the theme is street as all the pictures are on the street and I wanted all the five photos to be related.
The way I made this photo realistic was by photoshop by dragging the picture of the sculpture closer to the screen and larger. I also made the tone of the sculpture to match the tone of the building in the background. I am happy the way the photo turned out the way the size and the tone of the sculpture is just right.
In the photo Frank 'Sick of Goodbys' the theme is dark and gloomy \You can tell by the writing on the mirror and the way its presented .The unusual thing about this picture is that it is two photos that have been put into one. The smudges at the sides add an effect on the picture which gives it a dark theme. The photo by Vitturi is a calm and a happy theme the colours suggest that. The unusual thing about Vitturi's photo Is the way the fruit is layed out it suggests a tropical theme holiday. The fruit seems like it is a sculpture the way it is layed out you can tell that Vitturi has made the sculpture as there is string at the bottom. Some of the main differences between Frank and Vitturi's photos are the theme as you can tell Frank's photo 'sick of goodbys' is a dark, gloomy and frightening. The theme of Vitturi's photo 'Red' is happy calm and it gives you a tropical\holiday vibe. The similarities between the two photos are that they are shot from the same point of view. Another difference between the two photos is that although they are shot from the same point of view the background in Franks photo is more spaced out. In Franks photo there are 2 photos put into one so there are different edges and the edges are smudged out with lines. In Vitturi's photo there are a lot of shapes and edges. If I met Frank in real life I would ask him about the writing he chose for 'sick of goodbys' as it is upsidedown\negative. If I met Vitturi I would ask him how he made the fruit sculpture. If I had to title Vitturi's photo I would rename it tropical vibe as the picture is linked with tropical as it shows by fruit. I feel like Vitturi made this photo because ehe wanted to bring some of his traditions to London. If I could title Franks picture I would rename it 'Save Us' as he is sick of goodbyes. I think he chose this image because he is depressed as bath a his children died before he died also I think he is trying to show that no one is alone and that he is not the only one out there that their kids have died before the parents. The connection between these two photos are that at first you think they're normal photos but they're both motivational.
Homework Assessement
For my assessment i printed seven photos from my edges page but my printer ran out of ink so the pictures printed out with several colours and many lines but as all the photos turned out like it i actually like it because it's unique and adds a nice pattern. When my family came i showed them all my photos and explained why i chose them and i told them about it and they really like the way i shot the photos and how i designed my exhibition. My phone won't share the pictures for some reason but i will make an album on my phone and show you at school.
My objective for this project
My objective is to make some photograms and make them 35 millimetre transparent then I want to project them but i want to put my sculpture in front of the projector so I can see the shadow of it on my photograms. I want to do this for my project because it shows a lot of edges especially from the sculpture.
Evaluation
During this project i feel i have come further with my creativity and i've went outside the box more than i normally would. This project has taught me to be unique and do different photos to then i normally would for example the photos above i didn't know how to do it or that even was a thing, they might not be the best quality photos but even just going around the school and experimenting new things can teach you a lot. I feel like i could of focused more at the start of the project and got on with it but overall i feel like i've progressed.
