Berenice Abbott
Berenice Abbott was an American photographer and is remembered as one of the most independent, determined and respected photographers this is due to her unhappy and lonely childhood experiences but that didn't bring her down and late in life she found what she wanted to do and followed her aspirations. Abbott left her home and studied at a university in Ohio, within two weeks Abbot left as she was disgusted with the University's system. After a while Abbot worked at several different jobs but none that she was interested in so she took time off and within that time Abbott discovered her interest in sculpture. Abbot realised she wouldn't get anywhere in New York and took a one way ticket to Paris in hopes her sculpture career would flourish. Ray Man moved to Paris a year after Abbott and the two begun to work together. Abbott bought herself a camera and she would go out every lunch break and take pictures. Her artistic instinct photographic imaging was natural. Within the next year she opened her own portrait studio, which was also her home at 44 rue de Bac.Her reputation grew quickly. Clients became friends and Abbott soon had just as much or more business than Man Ray. On June 8, 1926, Abbott had her first solo exhibition at the Jan Slivinsky Gallery entitled, Portraits Photographiques. The show received rave reviews. Abbott remained in Paris for almost ten years and during this period she was introduced to Eugene Atget’s photography.
Mike Kelley
Mike Kelley was born in Detroit in 1954. Kelley grew up in a working class family as the youngest of four children. For ten years separated Kelley was from his older siblings and, as a result, he spent much of his childhood alone, reading in his room. Kelley's parents were Catholics but by the time Kelley was in first grade he remembers thinking that religion "was a load of shit". Kelley was an American artist regarded as one of the most influential members of the conceptual art movement. Concerned with abjection, youth, class, and the divide between high and low culture, Kelley’s work was often both playful and grotesque, using found objects like stuffed animals, knickknacks, and child-like drawings.
Homework
I chose to choose these photos because although they aren't the best quality photos you can't tell what the objects are in the photos and I tested out all different angles and chose the ones which i fell you can''t tell what's in the photo.
My first puzzled 'em photoshoot
In my opinion I felt this was really good for my first photoshop because I knew what I was doing and I just spotted the odd and unique things that I felt would make a good and puzzled photo. I used the lighting and the flash to make the objects stand out more.
My Game Instructions
In my game there are several black and white photos and which the back will be displayed on the wall, they will be numbered number 1-16. You have to choose four photos which then you will be able to see, once you have seen the four photos you have to guess what object is in each of the photos, once you have guessed what is in the four photos I will tell you if you're right and say for example if you get 2 out of 4 right you have to choose another 2 photos and you have 3 more chances to guess the right object in the photo.
